Samsung’s latest smartphone the Galaxy Round US launch has been dominating the rumor mills for quite a while now. Unless you have been living under a rock for the last three months, the Galaxy Round is the first announced smartphone to feature a curved display debut last month.
In addition, the handset sports a 5.7-inch FullHD display, Snapdragon 800 SoC alongside with 3GB of memory and 32GB of storage.
As mentioned in the title of this post, the Galaxy Round has indeed made waves into the United States and Australian cellular market. Though, the device can be solely found on online retailers.
If you are residing in the States and were looking forward purchasing the particular device, it is currently available at Negri Electronics – black edition only — retailing for $1,129.50. The phone is also factory unlocked; hence you put your SIM card in and you are good to go. In Australia the device can be found over MobiCity for $1,199.95, Unlocked as well.
Both retailers don’t have the device in stock though the customer can backorder it.
The Galaxy Round’s price tag is utterly ridiculous — we all know that. Initially, the handset wasn’t meant to pass the South Korean borders – exclusive to the country’s market — though Negri Electronics and MobiCity successfully managed to abduct some samples. Props to both.
Besides, LG has also joined the stage with its G Flex in the segment of curved smartphones, it’ll be interesting to see what could come next. Recently Samsung has promised to release a folding device by 2015.
