Twitter has improved the search function in the app for iOS and Android, adding various filters, whereas Windows Phone 8 receives improved notifications.
Twitter released its client app updates for all three major mobile platforms, for iOS, Android and Windows Phone this past week.
For iOS and Android, the micro-blogging service has improved the search function, incorporating a filter that speeds and simplifies the search of persons and content posted on the network.
Not only Twitter now allows to display the most popular posts, but also all the tweets. In addition, it added a new timeline for trends associated with tweets, TV shows and local events.
After installing the update, users will see first of two new buttons that allows you to see all tweets or only the top tweets. And latter in the search bar, which activates the filters. So you can search for specific content (photos, videos, news and people), all persons or only the following ones, and view messages from any location or only those written by people nearby. Additionally, you can create a kind of newspaper on local events instead of getting lost in the thousands of global news.
On the Discover tab, you can find tweets related to most popular TV shows of the moment, and can toggle or add geo location while composing a tweet, while in the section of direct messages, a list of suggested users is shown.
Alongside the update for iOS and Android, Twitter for Windows Phone also updated. Now users will receive notifications when their favorite accounts tweets. Other improvements include the ability to delete direct messages by long pressing a single message as well.
