The long awaited and widely rumored Windows Phone, Lumia 525 is finally official now. Nokia has irrevocably unveiled the successor of Lumia 520 smartphone.

Nokia Lumia 525 is almost identical to its predecessor, both in terms of looks and features. With the same 5-megapixel main camera sensor that lacks flash and no front facing additions, the primary camera of Lumia 525 features Cinemagraph lens, Panorama lens and Bing Vision along with other adjusting options such as landscape orientation, auto and manual exposure, touch to focus and geo-tagging.

The phone comes with an 8GB of internal memory storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card. The phone also has a WVGA 4-inch IPS LCD display. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, Lumia 525 has a 1GHz processor.

Nokia’s Lumia 520 had a disappointing 512MB of RAM which was a problem for some games and apps, which require 1GB of RAM. Unlike its predecessor, the latest Lumia solves the problem with 1GB of RAM onboard.

Weighing 124g, the phone is 119.9 mm long and 64 mm wide. Lumia 525 provides display of 10.16 cm and resolution of 800×480. The display features include Orientation sensor, brightness control and Lumia color profile. The pixel density of this new model sums up to 235 ppi. This smartphone with a super sensitive touch screen includes an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and proximity sensor.

The phone comes along with a 1430mAh battery which according to the company, delivers up to 17 hours of talk time, and 336 hours of standby time. Like the other Nokia Lumia phones, Lumia 525 includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, A-GLONASS and 3G. It also includes other popular location and navigation apps.

Lumia 525 is likely to ship in Black, White, Orange and Yellow, with the option to swap colors.

Although Lumia 520 had previously helped push Windows Phone sales in the US, Nokia isn’t launching its amazing new model in the same region. Rather this time, it will launch in countries across Africa, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Nokia’s Lumia 525 will be made available in Singapore on December 14th for SGD249, which sums up to about $199 (at current exchange rates).

Although extremely similar to Lumia 520, Nokia’s latest addition to the Lumia family, Lumia 525 is somehow really attractive and overwhelming. This new smartphone contains everything that any other Lumia phone has in it. With an attractive set of colors that can be swapped whenever the user wishes, Nokia Lumia 525 is certainly a good deal to lay hands on.
