A month ago, a tablet purportedly surfaced on the Android website, labeled Google Nexus 8 and also called as the successor of Nexus 10 by bloggers. According to @eveleaks, Nexus 8 is nothing but the inscrutable LGV510. The tipster attached a photograph, along with the tweet, of a database entry.
Previously, a couple of other rumors regarding the tablet had been floating in the air, citing Nexus 8 could possibly be LGV510 model.
Rumor has it that, Google might have renewed its partnership with LG Electronics. The two companies had, in the past, conjointly worked in bringing out the popular smartphones i.e. Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. However, if the speculations regarding Nexus 8 being LGV510 are true, then fans can expect a lot of features in the upcoming tablet similar to that of LG’s G Pad.
With an 8.3-inch display, and 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, LG G Pad features 2 cameras: The rear 5-megapixel camera and the 1.3-megapixel frontfacing camera. The tablet comes with a 2 GB of RAM and a battery of up to 4600 mAh.
To a lot of people’s surprise, the rumored specifications of Nexus 8 were exactly similar to that of LG G Pad, which includes the same 8.3-inch screen display, the same screen resolution, Cameras, RAM and battery.
However, a few other speculations regarding the tablet’s specifications include, a 1.7 GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 chipset, and the device is likely to be available in an 8 GB model, starting at $199 only.
The device was also rumored to run on the latest and greatest version to date, Android KitKat 4.4. While a lot of people claim that Nexus 8 was meant to play the role of Nexus 10’s successor, the company makes no comments on such allegations.
Google, hasn’t yet come up with a plan nor has it made any official announcements regarding Nexus 8 or any of its other devices.
