Samsung USA has made an official statement to confirm the availability of Android 4.2.2 KitKat update for several Galaxy devices.

They have shared a complete list of Galaxy smartphones and tablets that will be getting the update very soon, in fact, a few of them are already getting it. The list can be considered for Europe, Middle-East and Asia, although, the readiness of KitKat update can vary region-to-region and operators.

In the United States, the rollout process has already been begun. In addition to features those offered by the stock version Android 4.4 KitKat, the package includes a menu that allows you quickly access GPU and Wi-Fi configuration as well as Internet settings; the ability to opt for the native Messages app and Google Hangout for SMS and MMS; and auto-backup of videos, photos and files on Google Drive.

Here’s the complete list of Galaxy devices – including both high-end and low-end profiles — which will be getting the KitKat update.

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 mini;

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom;
  • Samsung Galaxy S3;
  • Samsung Galaxy S3 mini;
  • Samsung Galaxy Mega;
  • Samsung Galaxy Light;
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0;
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 3;
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1;
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition.

However, no exact release dates have been mentioned, but as always, as soon as an official update is available for download and installation, a notification appears on the display of your smartphone or tablet. You can also check for updates manually following: Go to the “Settings” menu, scroll down to “About phone” (or “About tablet”) and tap on “System Updates”.
