Lee Young Hee, the executive vice president of mobile business at Samsung, gave away the news about Samsung being working on a smart watch in an interview
If you have already heard about Project Altius that Samsung has been working on, then let me tell you that the project was not a rumor. Samsung is actually working on a smart watch and this has finally been confirmed by the vice president of Samsung.
Lee Young Hee, the executive vice president of mobile business at Samsung, gave away the news about Samsung being working on a smart watch in an interview with Bloomberg. Even though Samsung has confirmed this news, we still assume that Samsung is not the only company that has been working on a smart watch. According to rumors, even Apple is working on a smart watch device of its own which the company might name iWatch.
It was hardly a week that Samsung announced its new flagship device – the Galaxy S4, Lee Young Hee told the news agency that the company has been working on the development of the smart watch for some time.
“We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long. We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them,” he said.
Lee did not give out any specific details about the product, its specifications and its release date. We are amazed enough with the fact that Samsung has officially given out the information about the smart watch. Arch rival Apple have not given out any information whatsoever about the iWatch that could be the competitor for Samsung’s smart watch which might be a stand alone device or an add-on device that can be used along with high end Galaxy smartphones like the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4.
Now that Samsung has already given out the fact that the company is working on a smart watch, the company has to keep an eye on Apple and the possibility of the company coming up with its own smart watch – the Apple iWatch.
