After a series of rumors and speculations, the Google Chromecast has jumped outside the United States and available in the UK and 10 another countries including Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Italy.
The dongle for HDMI TVs has been so successful in the United States, and therefore it was voted for the best tech gadget of 2013 by TIME magazine. It’s available on Google Play store for £30. Aside the device can also be purchased at Amazon and some retail outlets including FNAC, Saturn, Media Markt in the territory.
Google also points out that it’s working with the European content providers to offer dedicated entertainment apps for the region.
On Google Play store, the stock of the Chromecast is quite good with estimated deliveries within 1-2 working days (at time of writings). However, considering the unprecedented success in the United States, potential buyers must get their hands-on it as soon as possible because the stock is very likely to be exhausted very soon.
For a quick note, Google Chromecast is a USB-like TV dongle that plugs-in HDMI port and turn any TV into a Smart TV. Once you connect and configure it to access Wi-Fi, you can control playback and stream media content directly from your smartphone or tablet.
