Instagram went down for few hours on Saturday afternoon and as usual selfies junkies jumped on twitter to complain. Its outage began at 08:49 PST, according to iseverythingdown.com and service resumed at around 10.50 PST.
Instagram posted on twitter that it was working on the feed delivery issue. Later, this tweet was removed.

In the past, Instagram app has become unresponsive on several occasions but this time both the desktop and mobile versions were unresponsive. Users, trying to upload pictures, were getting error “504 Gateway Time-Out”.
On its homepage, it was this showing inconvenience message, “Sorry, we couldn’t complete your request. Our team has been notified and will investigate as soon as possible’ on it”.
Downtime is a common problem for websites like Twitter, Vine and Facebook. However, Twitter is quite famous for its outages.
After Instagram crashed, twitter was flooded with witty tweets.
Last year, Instagram was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion in cash and stock. Since then it has marked tremendous growth.
