The Nokia Lumia 635, first Lumia smartphone sporting both a 4G LTE network and the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system will be available very soon, T-Mobile announced today.
Those that want to purchase the 635 won’t have to wait long to do so. Starting on July 5th, T-Mobile will offer its first means of availability for the smartphone, offering it first to Simple Choice customers through the Home Shopping Network. Anyone else can buy the smartphone beginning July 9th through T-Mobile’s website. It will be available at a low rate of $7 monthly for a 24-month plan with no money down. Users will’ve to have a T-Mobile Simple Choice plan already set in place though.
Lastly, customers without a T-Mobile Simple Choice plan can buy the 635 beginning July 16th at any T-Mobile location across the nation. It will also arrive to MetroPCS customers on July 18th at a low initial price of only $99. Not all MetroPCS locations will participate in the offer though.
According to the Senior Vice President of Marketing at T-Mobile Jason Young, this new Lumia’s indicative of the evolution of smartphones as it includes the Windows operating system. “The Lumia 635’s advanced features, functionality and design–combined with its amazing price point–make this an absolutely screaming deal. And, once again, the Un-carrier is first out of the gate, offering up the Lumia 365 weeks before the other guys through both T-Mobile and MetroPCS.”
The Lumia 635 includes a screen measuring about 4.5 inches and comes in several eye-catching colors, including neon green. It also offers a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and features like personal digital assistant Cortana, Live Tiles that allow for instant updates of important information, the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, shape writing and an intuitive keyboard, data-tracking through Sense, and preloaded apps like Skype, MixRadio, OneDrive, Storyteller, Microsoft Office, and 5MP Camera.
