Microsoft has finally released the Lumia Cyan software update for all Lumia phones in India.
If you’re a Lumia user in India, you’ll be happy to know that Microsoft has now released the Lumia Cyan update for all eleven Lumia variants in the country. The latest announcement pertains to the finishing of the Cyan update release for India as Microsoft just pushed out an update for Lumia 920, 820, 720, and 525.
With this said, however, we want to relay this news accurately. This doesn’t mean that all Indian carriers have pushed out the update for the various Lumia models, but it does mean that you should expect a rollout to your device (if it’s not available yet) within the next few days or week.
The US customers, unfortunately, have a longer wait than Indian customers. Currently, there are only four Lumia models (the Lumia 1020 and 1520 now among them) that’re eligible for the Cyan update with AT&T. The other three top US carriers (Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint) have yet to push the update to their respective Lumia models, and 13 Lumia models are still waiting to receive the Cyan update.

For a quick recap, the Lumia Cyan update brings necessary drivers and firmware update with Windows Phone 8.1 OS update. With this update, you should receive Microsoft’s digital assistant (Cortana), Wi-Fi Sense (an instant network connecting feature that operates when you’re in close proximity to a Wi-Fi network), not to mention a new Notification Center (dropdown window) dubbed as Action Center, as well as greater control and customization with your Live Tiles and a new Word Flow keyboard that gives Windows Phones the “swipe type” experience Android users have enjoyed for years.
