IFA 2014: Asus unveils Android Wear ZenWatch to challenge Gear Live and G Watch

At IFA 2014, Asus showcased its very first wearable ZenWatch along with powerful tablet MeMo 7.

The artistically designed smartwatch from the Taiwanese company looks pretty appealing with a 1.63-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, 2.5D curved lens. It is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2GHz CPU, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and Polymer 1.4Wh battery. It is compatible with phones that run on Android 4.3 Jelly bean or higher. And, it is water and dust resistant.

Android Wear and ZenUI—a customized interface— complimented by a tan leather strap to give potential owners that stylish look. ZenWatch is said to be priced around 199 Euros or $250 and will hit the US market in late October.

Samsung Group announces Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Gear S and Gear VR

With the launch of ZenWatch, joins that elite batch of wearables manufacturing companies like Samsung, LG and Motorola. And, if we believe the rumors, Apple will soon join the league with iWatch.
