Samsung is now selling the Galaxy S5 Mini in India exclusively through Flipkart. Pricing for the S5 Mini is Rs. 26,499 and it’s available in charcoal black, electric blue, copper gold, and shimmery white.
As a refresher, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is a super slim phone at 9.1 mm with a 4.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display (720 x 1280 pixels at 326ppi), a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of main memory and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB more using a microSD card.
Being a low-end version of full-fat Galaxy S5, the S5 Mini packs an 8MP sensor with flash and autofocus on the back, and a 2MP front-facing sensor for selfie lovers. As usual, the handset is made of plastic and weighs 120g only.
In sensors, the Galaxy S5 Mini has a proximity sensor, a heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyro sensor, a fingerprint sensor, A-GPS, GLONASS and a light sensor. Other noteworthy features include supports for dual-SIM (GSM + GSM), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and a 2100 mAh battery that lasts up to 16 hours on 3G network.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini runs Android 4.4 KitKat on-board with TouchWiz user interface on the top. It is certainly a true successor of the S4 Mini, but the price point could be debatable as a range of budget Android phones is available on the market starting Rs. 10,000.
