As expected, Microsoft has pushed its first preview build update – marked 9860 – for Windows 10 Technical Preview today. The preview build is in-place upgrade, and you must install build 9841 and sign up for Windows Insider program to get the build 9860.

It was quite expected as Gabriel Aul, who runs the Windows Insider program teased a screenshot of the build 9860. While, we also just reported that three updates (KB3008956, KB3008968 and KB3008931) were spotted that were only compatible with the build 9860.

The 9860 includes a lot of bug fixes and several new features including new animations, data sense, battery saver, notification center and a new home for Wi-Fi settings.

How do I get Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 9860?

The new build is a completely new OS, and you can upgrade the 9841 to 9860 only right now. You can check for new preview builds, just click/tap PC Settings > Update and recovery > Preview builds. Follow all the prompts to install the update immediately, or you can postpone the update to a more suitable time.

At the time of writing this post, Microsoft hasn’t published any ISO files, but they may provide ISO files for the release to perform a clean install.

Updated: Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul has confirmed that they have no plans to release ISO files. Therefore, upgrading the 9841 is the only option to get hands on the recent preview build.
