Samsung announces Galaxy Trend 2 and Galaxy Trend Duos 2

The Samsung Galaxy Trend 2 and Galaxy Trend Duos 2 have been officially launched in China and the smartphones have already been listed on the official Samsung website in China. It is clear that both these smartphones will be available only in China as of now, and the company might soon disclose its plans to take these devices global.

It has hardly been any time since Samsung announced the Galaxy Win in China, and the company has already come up with these two smartphones.

Even though we expect Samsung to bring this devices into the global market, there has been no official word from the company, and there is no saying whether these two smartphones will ever be launched outside of China.

The Samsung Galaxy Trend 2 and Galaxy Trend Duos 2 are both mid-range smartphones that are expected to target low and mid-segment consumers. There are a lot of similarities between these devices and we expect them to be priced similarly as well.

Both these smartphones will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and will be powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. The devices will have a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen displays that support 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. They will only have a 3 MP primary camera that too without LED flash and autofocus. The battery on these devices will be a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery which we believe might cause problems when it comes to battery backup.

Other important features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, HSDPA etc. There is no exact information available about the internal storage space available on these devices and the micro SD card support, but we expect to find that out very soon.

Finally, as far as the differences are concerned, the only difference between the Samsung Galaxy Trend 2 and Galaxy Trend Duos 2 is that the Galaxy Trend Duos 2 offers dual-SIM capability (CDMA / GSM) along with dual standby.
