El Rey: Vicente Fernandez
The Spanish series is based on the life of popular Mexican songwriter and singer, Vicente Fernández. The show is created by Dago Garcí and features Jaime Camil as the legendary musician. El Rey: Vicente Fernandez released on Netflix on September 14.
Sins of Our Mother
This true-crime documentary revolves around Lori Vallow, a mother who allegedly killed her own children. It released on Netflix on September 14.
Jogi is set against the backdrop of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. It is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and features Diljit Dosanjh in the lead. Jogi is slated to premiere on Netflix on Friday, September 16.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
The series premiered on Amazon Prime on September 2, 2022. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to life the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. It is set thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The Rings of Power Episode 4 will stream on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, September 16.
Goodnight Mommy
The upcoming horror film will premiere on September 16. It is the remake of the 2014 Austrian film of the same name. Starring Naomi Watt, Cameron Crovetti and Nicholas Crovetti, the film revolves around twin brothers who visit their mother’s house, but they soon realise something is not right.
House of the Dragon
The fourth episode of House of the Dragon picks up on romance and mystery between the characters of the show. The show is a prequel to Game of Thrones and is created by the author of the franchise, George RR Martin alongside Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik. Right off the bat, the show created an immense buzz all over the Internet with just the release of its first episode.
Koffee With Karan 7
The 11th episode of Koffee with Karan 7 saw JugJugg Jeeyo actors Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor getting into a candid conversation with host Karan Johar. The episode featured several fun moments where they spoke about their work, competition in the film industry, and their personal lives.
Starring Tisca Chopra, Saurabh Shukla, Rajesh Tailang, Ankur Nayyar, and Mukesh Tiwari, Dahan is directed by Vikrant Pawar. This horror and thriller series is set in the town of Shilaspura, which is cursed by a preacher. It is believed that the preacher’s spirit is trapped in a mound.
Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach
Pankaj Tripathi, Swastika Mukherjee and Purab Kohli’s crime thriller dropped a new episode. The show navigates a high-profile murder case in which the adolescent brother of the victim is the prime suspect.
The documentary features Doris Muñoz and Jacks Haupt, two daughters of immigrants from Mexico. As both navigate to build a career in the music industry, the stakes are higher because it is their family’s only hope for a green card.
Shiksha Mandal
Shiksha Mandal is a crime drama written and directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal. It stars Gulshan Devaiah, Gauahar Khan and Pawan Malhotra. The story is inspired by true events involving one of the biggest medical entrance exam scams in India.
Devlok with Devdutt Pattanaik S3
The third season of Devlok with Devdutt Pattanaik is set to stream from September 16. It is helmed by author and mythologist, Devdutt Pattanaik. The series will feature fascinating discussions and interpretations between Devdutt and the show’s host, Rasika Duggal.
Deadliest Catch: The Viking Returns
Deadliest Catch: The Viking Returns premiered on Discovery+ on September 13, 2022. The official synopsis of the series reads, “Sig Hansen lures his family back to their Norwegian homeland hoping to build a new king crab fishing empire.”
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram follows the story of a special agent who investigates a murder. This leads him to a group of people who manage the drug racket in Chennai. The film features Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles.
The 74th Emmy Awards
The 74th Emmy Awards that honoured the best in American prime-time television programming can be streamed on Lionsgate Play. The event was live-streamed on the OTT platform on September 13. This year, while Succession won the Outstanding Drama Series, The White Lotus, Squid Game and Ted Lasso dominated this year’s Emmy Awards with multiple trophies in several categories.
Force of Nature
Starring Mel Gibson as a retired detective, along with Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth, Force of Nature is an action thriller. A team of courageous cops, a doctor and a retired detective battle a deadly gang of thieves, who plan to execute a heist during a hurricane. The film will start streaming on the OTT platform from September 16.
College Romance 3
Keshav Sadhna and Shreya Mehta star in the third season of the popular comedy series College Romance. It is touted to be more fun than the previous instalments. College Romance 3 is slated to premiere on SonyLiv on Friday, September 16.
Ramarao On Duty
Director Sarath Mandava’s Ramarao On Duty features Ravi Teja, Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijayan in lead roles. The film traces the life of a government officer who bends the rules in putting up a fight against the system. He gets transferred to a village where he faces a huge threat.
