BARCELONA, Spain — The Winners of the GSMA’s 20th Global Mobile Awards have been announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The winners were honored in a ceremony hosted by actor, comedian, writer and film producer Mr. John Cleese.

Last year, the HTC One bagged the award, this year the Apple iPhone 6 and the LG G3 were awarded the best smartphones of the year, although they hadn’t tough competition from the rivals such as Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Sony Xperia Z3, and HTC One M8. In addition, Samsung’s one of the 2015 flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 edge was announced as the best device presented during the Spanish show.
The team of 170 experts appreciated the iPhone 6 in terms of design, performance and fuel economy than the previous model while LG G3 earned points for its edge-to-edge high-resolution display and excellent camera.
This year, Motorola bagged two awards – the Moto E as the best low-cost smartphone and the Moto 360 as the best Wearable Mobile Technology; whereas Microsoft Surface Pro 3 bagged the best mobile tablet award outshining the contenders like Apple iPad Air 2, Google Nexus 9, Sony Xperia Z3, and Samsung Galaxy S Tab 8.4.
