According to the information provided by the roadmap for the French carrier SFR, the Samsung Galaxy Note and Sony Xperia S will get the Android Jelly Bean update by the month of May.
Sony had already promised to roll out the Android Jelly Bean update for the Xperia S by the end of March but failed to do so. The company launched the Sony Xperia S last year in the month of February and the device was running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread after which it got the Ice Cream Sandwich update. Later on, it was said that the device would get the Jelly Bean update which will most probably be the last update.
The information obtained from the SFR’s list also says that the original Samsung Galaxy Note will be getting the Jelly Bean update, the same time period during which the Sony Xperia S will be getting the update. And again, similar to the Sony Xperia S, this Jelly Bean update (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) will most probably be the last Android update the Galaxy Note will receive.
So if the leaked information is correct, then it is just a matter of one month for most of the Sony Xperia S and Samsung Galaxy Note users. We hope that the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update will be rolled out for both these smartphones by May end.
