New images of the Acer Iconia W3 have been leaked over the internet. The sources claim that this is the new 8-inch tablet from Acer that will soon make its way into the tablet market. The interesting point is that the tablet has an 8-inch display and is said to start a new revolution in the Windows tablet segment.

It was a French website that initially gave out posted the image on the internet. The website claims that this tablet is actually the Acer Iconia W3, Acer’s future 8-inch tablet that will run on Windows 8 operating system. The image has now been removed from the website and the reason for the same is that Acer requested them to do so.

The involvement of Acer in this case does not only indicate that the image could be legit, but it also means that there are some reasons why Acer does not want the tablet to get the publicity and attention that it would, if the image and post would have stayed online.

By the way, if you have been using a Windows based tablet, then you must be knowing that the Windows tablet market is ruled by 10-inch tablets as of now. It seems that the game will soon change, the introduction of this new 8-inch Acer tablet could trigger an event that we all have been waiting for – ‘The day the 8-inch tablets took over.’

The best part is that this Acer Iconia W3 will not be running on Windows 8 RT that has limited features, rather it will run on the proper version of Windows 8 hence giving you complete power and all the features available in the 10-inch tablets. All this will be yours on an 8-inch tablet that will be much slimmer and lighter than the regular 10-inch tablets.

This tablet is expected to have an Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor, 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, 2 GB of RAM and both front and rear cameras. If you want to know more, then stay tuned as we will have more updates for you soon.
