Nokia has unveiled the new QWERTY phone which happens to be the Nokia Asha 210. This is the same yellow phone that was shown in the teaser images posted by Nokia some days ago.
So if you were following the posts about Nokia planning to launch a new smartphone on the 24th of April, then you must already have seen the teaser image that showed off the ‘Z’ and ‘Shift’ key on a yellow colored mobile phone. The image clearly indicated that it was a QWERTY phone and now we even have official announcement for the same.
The phone has been officially unveiled and it is called the Nokia Asha 210. The interesting thing about this Nokia Asha 210 is that it has a dedicated button for social networking and something special apart from Facebook. Nokia has included a new WhatsApp button into the Asha 210 making it the first device to offer this functionality
So similar to the Asha 205, Nokia has embedded a dedicated social button for Facebook in Europe and Latin America whereas consumers in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Africa will get the WhatsApp button on the Asha 210.
The best part about this phone is that Nokia has a partnership with WhatsApp that will allow Asha 210 consumers to enjoy free WhatsApp usage for as long as they own the device. This will allow the consumers to connect with their friends and family even if they use iOS, Android or Windows Phone devices.
The Nokia Asha 210 has a 2.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, full QWERTY keypad, 64MB of internal memory, micro SD card support up to 32GB, 2 MP camera but no front camera.
The device will be available in single and dual-SIM variants and comes in a variety of colors including yellow, cyan, black, magenta, and white. The device is priced at $72 and shipping is expected to start later this quarter.
So if you are looking for a new phone to have fun with, or if you are planning to get a second phone then the Nokia Asha 210 is definitely an option worth considering.
