Foursquare 3.0 for Windows Phone allows users of the social network to create live tiles of people and places on the Start Screen based on geolocation.
After Facebook and YouTube, the Foursquare app for Windows Phone 8 receives a major upgrade that dramatically improves the user experience. Foursquare 3.0 is now available on the Windows Phone Store. It gains a new Modern interface with colored squares, clear text and rectangular shapes that allow easy and instant access to the important features of the application.
Foursquare 3.0 for Windows Phone allows users of the social network to create live tiles of people and places on the Start Screen based on geolocation. It also adds support for notifications on the lock screen and the voice commands. You can also use your voice to perform search and check-in. The new version of the app also integrates support for NFC present in some model of smartphones, with which the user can check-in and send a notification to their friends.
The Foursquare app has developed by Nokia in collaboration with Microsoft. The official Foursquare blog points out that the owner of the certain Lumia (compatible phones are not known yet) can take advantage of a unique feature stating
Some of the Lumia models even integrate Foursquare data into their augmented reality experience (!!!), so it feels like you’re in the future when you’re finding cool places and money-saving deals.
According to the report, a specific version for Windows Phone 7.8 also is in works which will be released in the coming weeks.
