The name Lumia 625 suggests that the device will be an upgrade to Lumia 620, but it has a processor that is identical to that of the Nokia Lumia 920.
Recent reports indicate that Nokia is working on the Nokia Lumia 625, a new member of the Nokia Lumia family. So along with high end smartphones like the Nokia Lumia 925 and Nokia Lumia 928, which are expected to be the next-gen devices in the Nokia Lumia series, we also have another entry which has a 4.7-inch WVGA screen – the Nokia Lumia 625.
Judging by the name itself, you must have guessed that the Nokia Lumia 625 might not be as powerful as the Nokia Lumia 925 or Lumia 928, even the Nokia Lumia 920 to say so. It could very well be possible that the Nokia Lumia 625 will be an upgraded version of the Nokia Lumia 620. If the Lumia 625 was supposed to be a new high-end device, then the company would not have named it or to be more specific, numbered it in the 600 series.
The information about the Nokia Lumia 625 comes from Chinese sources which say that the device will have a 4.7-inch WVGA display. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 chipset with dual-core processor and will be running on Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system. We still do not know why Nokia would want to go for a WVGA display instead of a 720p display that is present on the Nokia Lumia 920.
There definitely is some confusion here. The name Lumia 625 suggests that the device will most probably be an upgrade to the Lumia 620, but then the device also has a processor that is identical to that of the Nokia Lumia 920. And again, as Chinese sources say, the Lumia 625 will have a WVGA display similar to the one present on Nokia Lumia 820.
The device is expected to be announced on May 14th, and if the Nokia Lumia 625 is not announced on this date, then it will get a separate event in June or July. So are you ready to wait that long to find out more about the Nokia Lumia 625?
