Galaxy S4 Active looks a bit similar to its predecessor Galaxy S4, though the tougher dust & water resistant build has led to some slight design changes.
The rugged version of Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has been in rumors for a long time. The phone was confirmed last month and will probably be arriving in July with the official announcement sometime later this month. Two days back, Galaxy S4 Active was spotted in the benchmark, and now its first images have appeared online.
The phone was recently showcased in Croatia at some unknown event and an informer of GSMArena witnessed it & shared the tips with the site. The latest leaked shots clearly show the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active in the striking red color and reveal that Active will be a tougher dust & water resistant variant of the flagship Galaxy S4. Probably, it would be the tough high-end phone in the Galaxy S4 lineup.
This is not the first time that we have heard about the Samsung Galaxy S4, but it is certainly the first time that we have actually seen the photos which showcase the device. If the specifications exposed in the image indeed are true, then other smartphone giants like Sony should get ready to face a tough competition with this new smartphone from Samsung.
Even though this leak delivers reliable imprints of the Active, but we do not want to jump to conclusions so soon until we can check out the device for real. The Galaxy S4 Active looks a bit similar to its predecessor Galaxy S4, though the tougher dust & water resistant build has led to some slight design changes.
As per the tipster, the Galaxy S4 Active will be coming with a 5-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080p display (it is still unclear if it’s Super AMOLED or not) with a pixel density of 480ppi. It will be powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor along with Adreno 320 GPU.
The phone will feature 8-megapixel main camera which is a downgrade from the mainstream Galaxy S4’s 13MP camera. Galaxy S4 Active is expected to run the latest version of Android 4.2.2 and it may sport 2GB of on-board RAM.
Galaxy S4 Active is packed in some kind of metallic shell instead of a plastic body. Unlike the Galaxy S4 that features touch sensitive buttons, it features three hardware buttons below the screen, each for home, menu and back.
Unfortunately, we lack the further details as well official info on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, but we expect that the Korean tech giant will announce the smartphone soon in the near future.
