Miami-based smartphone manufacturer BLU has announced two new smartphones with the launch of Vivo Air LTE and Pure XL. Both these devices will go on sale exclusively via Amazon.com in the US. However, details of its global release have not been announced yet.
The BLU Pure XL, being touted as the flagship variant, has been priced at $349 and will be available starting September 29. It features a massive 6-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 490ppi and also sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
Under the hood, the smartphone gets powered by MediaTek’s new Helio X10 (MT6795) octa-core processor clocked at 2.0Ghz bundled with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. In terms of storage, it comes with 64GB of internal storage with support for expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB). It also supports 4G LTE connectivity with support for AT&T and T-Mobile bands.
The smartphone sports an aluminum-clad body featuring a fingerprint scanner housed on the back for added security.
In terms of optics, the BLU Pure XL features a 24MP primary camera with True tone flash along with an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone runs the latest Android 5.1 OS while juicing up the device is a 3500mAh battery. The manufacturer claims that the smartphone supports quick charging and can charge up to 43 percent in 30 minutes of charging. The smartphone will be available in Gold and Grey color options.
