Google and Microsoft will be working together in order to resolve the conflicts, and come up with a YouTube app that will not trouble consumers anymore.
Microsoft and Google have finally decided to work together and come up with a proper updated YouTube app for Windows Phone. It seems that the two companies have stopped sending letters and making comments and statements, and have actually decided to do something that will solve the problem – ‘work together.’
It all started with the YouTube app update from Microsoft which did not support ads. Microsoft updated the YouTube app for Windows Phone and this updated app did not allow ads, and at the same time had an offline downloader, both of which were against the policies of YouTube. After being notified about the same from Google, Microsoft updated the app once again, this time removing the offline downloader but still providing no support for ads.
In spite of everything that has happened, the problem has not really been solved. And all in all, this will have a negative effect on consumers who expect quality service from respected companies like Google and Microsoft.
However, it seems that Google and Microsoft have understood the situation now and have decided to jointly work on the solution. The companies will be working together in order to resolve the conflict once and for all, and come up with a YouTube app that will not trouble consumers anymore.
Microsoft has sent an email to Neowin which was credited as a joint statement from Microsoft and YouTube. The email was concerning the status of Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone YouTube app. Here is the statement made in the email:
‘Microsoft and YouTube are working together to update the new YouTube for Windows Phone app to enable compliance with YouTube’s API terms of service, including enabling ads, in the coming weeks. Microsoft will replace the existing YouTube app in Windows Phone Store with the previous version during this time.’
Now we have to wait for both the companies to come up with the new updates YouTube app for Windows Phone. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated with the progress.
