Microsoft is holding Lumia Windows 10 event for Insiders in India on Nov 30 for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL launch.
Windows Phone fans in India will likely to buy the newly announced Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL starting next month. Microsoft has scheduled a Windows Insider event for November 30 in New Delhi and Mumbai where it’ll be announcing the launch of the flagship duo in the country, while the devices are expected to go on sale the day after.
Being a part of the Windows Insider Program, we received an email invitation from Microsoft for the event which says:
“You’ve helped us shape the Windows experience for millions of people. As a way of thanking you, we want to invite you to be one of the first to experience the new Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL with Windows 10 first-hand.
Be one of the first to get a hands-on look at these new devices, discover new Windows 10 features and chat with Microsoft experts about all the exciting details. Enjoy a live demo of Continuum for Phones and watch the Lumia 950 and 950 XL turn an external screen into a PC-like experience.
And that’s not all! Buy a Lumia 950 or 950 XL at the event and the sales package will include a Microsoft Display Dock.”
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at the company’s Future Unleashed conference said that the company plans to launch its Windows 10 Mobile powered flagship duo along with the Surface Pro 4 in the country. Hence, we’ll definitely see the handsets launched in the country by December though the Surface Pro 4 will likely be available starting January.
To recall, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were launched back in October. The main highlight of these devices is the Continuum feature, which essentially turns the smartphone into a PC. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Lumia 950 gets a 5.2-inch 2K AMOLED display while powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset bundled with 3GB of RAM. The phone has 32GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 200GB via microSD card.
Meanwhile, the Lumia 950 XL gets a 5.7-inch 2K display and powering it is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 octa-core SoC bundled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also gets 32GB of storage expandable up to 200GB via microSD slot.
Both devices share the same optics with a 20MP rear camera with 4K recording capabilities, OIS and f/1.9 aperture. While on the front, there’s also a 5MP cam capable of shooting Full HD videos and comes with f/2.4 aperture. In addition, the duo comes with adaptive antenna technology along with liquid cooling, and will run the latest Windows 10 Mobile OS out-of-the-box.
