After Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai slams Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s recent disclosure asking Muslims to be banned entry in the United States has already been slammed by some leaders of prominent tech giants. And now, Google CEO Sundar Pichai becomes the latest to oppose Trump’s rather blazing demands, which has already escalated religion-based discrimination in the media around the world.

Google CEO of Indian origin Pichai gives his own example, who leads one of the biggest tech companies in the world. He constantly uses the phrase “America as the land of opportunity”, which is indeed a reality as millions of immigrants in the US have found possibilities that they couldn’t have imagined elsewhere. He kept on stressing that acceptance and open-mindedness have made the US what it is today, which are the cornerstone to a great nation.

“The open-mindedness, tolerance, and acceptance of new Americans is one of the country’s greatest strengths and most defining characteristics,” said Sundar Pichai.

He further added that Google campus is place where “a vibrant mix of races and cultures” work together and thrive. Though, he did mention that it’ll be a long road ahead before Google finally represent minority communities in its rank.

Sundar Pichai is not the only Silicon Valley executive who has voiced his concerns over Donald Trump’s recent presidential campaign. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also recently announced on the social network that they will “fight to protect” the rights of Muslims around the world.

“If you’re a Muslim in this community, as the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you,” said Zuckerberg in his Facebook post.

These are conflicting times indeed where Silicon Valley are constantly trying to hire the best from all over the globe in their organizations. As opposed to political leaders such as Trump who’re trying to alter the anti-immigration policies who believe that such strict policies are the only way to curb the proliferation of terrorists.
