Samsung has officially announced Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, the smartphone that has been in rumors for a long time now. The device has finally been unveiled and we now know that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is for real. Now the point that matters the most is, whether the Galaxy S4 Mini will be able to perform like its big brother or is it just a cheap version of the S4 with nothing special in it.
If you have been waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini with high expectations, you are surely going to be disappointed with the hardware configuration that Samsung has put in the S4 Mini. The Galaxy S4 Mini has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a contrast ratio of 800:1. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and has a 1900mAh battery.
Similar to the Samsung Galaxy Grand, the device has only 8GB of internal storage space out of which consumers will be able to use only 5GB. The device also has a microSD card support using which you can expand storage by up to 64GB. The device also has an 8MP primary camera and a 1.9MP secondary camera.
A good part about the design is that the device weighs just about 107 grams and has a thickness of 8.94 mm. There is also a 3G Dual-SIM version of the Galaxy S4 Mini which weighs 1 gram extra than the standard S4 Mini.
If we look at the Galaxy S4 Mini as just another smartphone from Samsung, then the device is really a very good option for consumers who want a good mid-segment device. However, if we add the Galaxy S4 tag to the name, then it makes no sense at all since there is a very big difference between the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S4 Mini no matter how you compare them.
Samsung had something different to say when the company came up with the S4 Mini. This is what the CEO and President of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Communication Division, JK Shin said about the Galaxy S4 mini:
‘We appreciate such unprecedented demands for the Galaxy S4 that we aimed to provide users with a life companion for a fuller, rich and simpler life. And now, we want to give people more choices with Galaxy S4 mini, similar look & feel of Galaxy S4 for more compact and practical usages. The new Galaxy S4 mini provides consumers with a new way to enjoy the flagship Galaxy S4 experience.’
Earlier we reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to be announced on June 20th. If you are looking forward to buy this smartphone, you still have some time to think over your decision.
