Asus has officially announced a new Windows 8 ultrabook named the Asus Zenbook Infinity. This new ultrabook was announced at Computex 2013, one of the most popular annual tech events in the world. Computex 2013 is being held in Taipei and will run from the 4th of June through the 8th of June.

At this event, Asus has revealed another of its creative ultrabooks, the Asus Zenbook Infinity. With this new ultrabook, Asus wants to set some new standards in the world of laptop and notebook computers. The Asus Zenbook Infinity is a 13-inch ultrabook and is said to have a Gorilla Glass 3 lid, it is also the first ultrabook to have this feature by default.

According to the information provided by Asus, this new Gorilla Glass 3 lid will provide three times the scratch resistance of Gorilla Glass 2. So along with being slim, light and fast, we know that this ultrabook will also have a very high quality display protection.

Talking about thickness, the Asus Zenbook Infinity is just 15.5 mm thick and still contains premium features like touchscreen display, backlit keyboard, USB 3.0 port and more.

As far as the hardware configuration is concerned, there are no confirmed stats available, but a video from Engadget confirms that the ultrabook will be powered by Intel’s fourth generation Core processor. We still have no update on the GPU, RAM and Internal storage space that will be present on the Asus Zenbook Infinity.

Another important hardware specification has still not been rated by Asus – battery life. There is no official information available about the battery capacity or the backup that it is expected to give. We know that the ultrabook has a 13-inch display and runs on Windows 8, but we will have to wait for Asus to reveal the ultrabook’s battery capacity and backup details.

Consumers who are interested in buying the Asus Zenbook Infinity will have to wait till the fourth quarter of this year. The release date has not been announced but we know that ultrabook will hit the consumer market by the end of this year.
