Microsoft Lumia 650 is now available for pre-order in the UK for £199. Meanwhile, the launch of the Lumia 650 has reportedly pushed back a little to mid-February.
Microsoft is widely expected to launch the Lumia 650 in February before the 2016 edition of Mobile World Congress. Other Microsoft phone models such as the 750 and 850 have seemingly fallen by the wayside, but the Lumia 650 is well on its way. Now, a third-party retailer has listed the upcoming phone early.
The site MobileFun.co.uk includes a listing for the Lumia 650. The website is listing the phone as ‘SIM Free Microsoft Lumia 650 LTE Unlocked – Black.’ So this is a black model of the phone that comes without SIM card.
The third-party retailer has made the Lumia 650 available for pre-order. However, Microsoft hasn’t even officially announced the mobile yet. The handset is retailing at £199 on MobileFun.co.uk.
Although the Lumia maker has not officially announced the Lumia 650, it is widely expected to launch in February. Most expected Microsoft to announce the phone on its blog on February 1. So the phone will certainly be available in February before MWC.
However, Windows Central has stated that Microsoft might push the launch of the Lumia 650 back a little to mid-February. This delay might have come about because of late software issues discovered. All things considered, Microsoft could announce the phone closer to February 15.
The new listing of the phone reveals its specifications, which are as most anticipated. The site boasts that the Lumia 650 has a ‘superb’ 8-megapixel camera. That might be a slight exaggeration when you consider that some high-end phones have cameras eclipsing 20 megapixels.
Overall, it’s a relatively low-spec phone. It will have a 1.1 Ghz CPU, a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 resolution and 2,000mAh battery. The site listing highlights that it will have 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.
As the mobile is now available for pre-order, it’s almost certain the Lumia 650 is coming out this February. With Microsoft making cut backs to its Lumia division, the company’s phones are in decline. So the 650 will probably be the only Lumia model of 2016.
