Recently a new BlackBerry 10 smartphone has surfaced on the internet – the BlackBerry Z5. The BlackBerry Z5 seems to be the mini version of the BlackBerry Z10, the company’s flagship device.
The BlackBerry Z5, possibly the next BlackBerry 10 smartphone from the company will be a mid-segment smartphone just like the BlackBerry Q5 which was being talked about some time back.
There have already been reports which said that BlackBerry has plans to launch a total of 6 models this year, and we see no reason why the BlackBerry Z5 and BlackBerry Q5 could not be one of them.
BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins had already hinted that there would be a total of 6 Blackberry smartphones – two high end, two mid-range and two entry-level ones. Right now it is difficult to say whether the BlackBerry Z5 and BlackBerry Q5 will fall under the mid-segment smartphones or the entry level ones.
The BlackBerry Z5 is expected to have a 4.2-inch display with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. The BlackBerry Q5 is expected to have a 3.1-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels.
Interestingly, there have been reports which say that BlackBerry will also unveil a new high-end smartphone, the BlackBerry A10. The BlackBerry A10 will also have a 4.2-inch touchscreen display and the same resolution as that of the Z10. So similar to Apple, BlackBerry also plans to ensure that their devices have similar resolutions which will make it easier to develop games and apps for the platform.
As of now, BlackBerry has not officially announced the BlackBerry Z5, Q5 or the A10. However, the third quarter of 2013 will start soon and BlackBerry might have some really cool announcements to make.
