Microsoft is offering a solid reason to buy Windows 10 devices – tempting discounts on Surface Pro 4 and several Dell laptops including XPS 13.
It’s Pi Day today, and Microsoft is celebrating the occasion by offering some heavy discounts that match the mathematical constant that the day represents.
Discounts offered are to the tune of 31.4 percent which symbolises 3/14 or Pi. However, while many may not be remembering much about Pi and its associated maths, they can still look forward to the sleek range of Microsoft devices and Dell laptops that have been made more endearing with almost one-third prices slashed.
As things stand right now, the Dell XPS 13 can be lapped up for just $685.31, which makes for a substantial drop from the regular price of $999. It comes with a Core i5 Skylake chip mated to an 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD. The notebook also has a gorgeous 13.3-inch FullHD (1080p) display.
That apart, the Inspiron 13 and the Inspiron 15 laptops too benefits from the 31.4 percent price adjustment. Of these, the Inspiron 13 too costs the same $685.31 as its XPS 13 brethren while also sporting slightly better specs as well.
Powering the notebook is a Core i7 Skylake chip with close support from 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD. There is also the 13.3-inch FullHD display as well. The Inspiron 13, otherwise, ships for $999 on any other day.
The Inspiron 15 is the cheapest of the lost at $513.81 post 31.4 percent discount. It comes with a Core i5 Skylake chip and works in conjugation with a 8 GB RAM and 1 TB HDD. As its name implies, the laptop also comes with a 15.5-inch FullHD display and is the only one in the lot to comes with Intel RealSense 3D camera, compatible with Windows Hello feature.
The Pi Day discount apart, Microsoft has also lined up spring sale that starts tomorrow. The highlight of the sale is the flat $100 discount applicable to some Surface Pro 4 models while an even heftier 50 percent discount is being meted out to some laptops and PCs.
The Pi Day discounts will be valid only for today and till stocks lasts.
Meanwhile, it has only been a few days that Dell has also been offering the XPS 13 Developer Edition, comes preinstalled with Ubuntu 14.04. However, prices start at a quite hefty $1,549.99 and have matching specs to boot. This includes Core i7 chips along with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage.
There are even more powerful versions available too that are priced $1,949.99. For that much of money, buyers get to have computing nirvana brought about by a Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 of SSD storage.
For those who need even more storage can opt for the version that comes with 1 TB of storage along with the same Core i7 chip/16 GB RAM that is priced $2,349.99.
