Those who might have been holding off their purchase of the Surface Book can look forward to $100 discount on the Core i5 models of the ultimate laptop by Microsoft at the moment.
So as things stand right now, the Core i5 Surface Book model range now starts at $1,399 for the 128 GB version while the higher 256 GB version now costs $1,599. The range’s top model featuring the same 256 GB of storage but having a dedicated GPU that is priced $1,799 post $100 discount.
All the Surface Book models featuring Intel Core i5 chip offer 8 GB of RAM.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has also pushed Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14295 for both PC and Mobile in the Fast Ring. The build, however, does not come with a host of new features, focusing rather on improvements and enhancements based on consumer feedback. Also, as is considered normal with Fast Ring releases, Build 14295 also comes with several known issues in addition to the fixes it introduces to PC and Mobile.
Among mobile devices that Microsoft said is eligible to receive Windows 10 Mobile ‘Redstone’ Preview build include Lumia 550, 650, 950, 950 XL, Xiaomi Mi4, and Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL. These apart, all the phones registered to receive the Fast Ring releases will also be getting the update except Lumia 635, which Microsoft said will be included later on.
Also, with the annual developer conference, Build 2016 slated to kick off on March 30th, Microsoft might be holding off the release of a more feature-packed version of Windows 10 till then. The version, which is pegged at Build 1430x is expected to come with some significant improvements to Action Center and Cortana among other things.
In a related development, Microsoft has also announced Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14291 for Mobile is now rolling out to several older Windows handsets those are eligible to receive Windows 10 Mobile upgrade officially.
In any case, the focus is now on Build 2016 conference where Microsoft is expected to make some exciting new announcements. Keep watching!
