Xiaomi’s recently unveiled Mi Max phablet is now available via open sale in India at INR 14,999 across company’s retail partners.
It’s been a week since Chinese electronics company Xiaomi had its first flash sale of Mi Max phablet on its website. Moving on, the company has decided to put an end to a week-old flash sale by making the product available via open sale across its online retail partners. The Xiaomi Mi Max costs INR 14,999 in the country, and its higher-end variant will soon be launched at INR 19,999.
The phablet is up via open sale on e-commerce portals such as Amazon, Paytm, and Tata Cliq. While Xiaomi Mi Max is not listed on Snapdeal, it’s currently out of stock on Amazon.
On June 30, Xiaomi had a highly-controversial Mi Max launch event at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium where company’s so-called Mi Fans turned rogue, protested, and chanted slogans against the company and its Vice President Hugo Barra for a fight over goodies drama.
It was announced back then that Xiaomi Mi Max will be available on open sale by July 13. This way, potential Xiaomi customers have no need to worry about suffering from a limited number of devices due to flash sales or stressing much about registering for pre-orders.
Specs wise, Xiaomi Mi Max sports 6.44 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen alongside 74.8% screen-to-body ratio as well as 1080 x 1920 pixels full HD resolution and 342 ppi pixel density. The multitouch-supported screen comes accompanied by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
The phablet runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box on top of company’s own MIUI 7. It’s powered by Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 chipset (Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 CPU), 3GB RAM, and Adreno 510 GPU.
Xiaomi Mi Max comes in two storage variants – 32GB and 64GB. While there is no dedicated microSD card slot packed inside, it is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card that uses SIM 1 slot.
As far as the camera is concerned, Xiaomi Mi Max has 16 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The camera is capable of recording videos up to 2160p@30fps. At the front, there is 5MP selfie shooter.
The phablet packs in a 4850 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.
