A week before Black Friday and running throughout November, specific deals will be available only through Alexa’s voice shopping capabilities, which is used in Amazon’s Echo speakers, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap, Amazon Fire HD tablet, and Amazon Fire TV. All the user has to do is ask, “Alexa, what are your deals?” Alexa then provides the daily deals for the day. The user can then tell Alexa to order one of those items.
This will be the start of Alexa-exclusive deals through the holidays. The items can be found on Amazon’s website, but users with an Amazon Prime membership and an Alexa device with 1-click enabled can get the product on sale.
Alexa customers will also receive a $5 Amazon gift card for any deal that costs more than $10. This special lasts through Cyber Monday. This strategy may entice non-Alexa users to order an Alexa-enabled device and sign up for a Prime membership which is required to take advantage of the deals.
Amazon Prime memberships are $20 off of the $99 USD annual fee. The Amazon Tap will also be $50 off of the $130 price. Highlights of the Alexa-exclusive deals include Samsung’s 32-inch 1080p LED TV for $120, and $15 off of the Philip Hue LED starter kit, which can be used with Alexa’s voice controls. Others include $80 off Beyerdynamic Limited Edition Headphones, $130 off a 10-piece All-Clad stainless steel cookware set and saving 30 percent on a 48-pack of Amazon Basics AA Batteries.
Assaf Ronen, the vice president voice shopping says, “Voice shopping with Alexa takes the hassle out of the holidays, giving customers the ability to order from millions of items simply by saying the word.”
