Huawei officially announced its much awaited Ascend P6 smartphone in London, with its global availability set to summer this year. The Chinese mobile manufacturer claims that 6.18mm thin Huawei Ascend P6 is the world’s slimmest smartphone which will be sold in black, white and pink variants around the world for a quite affordable price.
According to the fresh reports, the company’s latest flagship device is scheduled to hit the stores in the UK starting from July 4. The SIM-free Ascend P6 has been priced at £329.95 (or $516) though some carriers will be offering it on contract as well. The pre-orders have already started, and the willing consumers can book their device through the available online retailers and wireless carriers.
Carephone Warehouse is the first online retailer to start taking pre-orders in the UK. You can get the device for free if you pick a 2-year contract that costs at least £21/month. The vendor also offers it free as an upgrade to your current phone for the same monthly amount. This pairing will get you 100 minutes, unlimited texting and 100MB of data with 1GB of Wi-Fi support.
The interested customers can book either black or white variant of the SIM-free Huawei Ascend P6 from the UK-based online store of the Carphone Warehouse for £329.95, and orders are expected to begin shipping out from July 4.
The keen folks worldwide who want to get the Ascend P6 in their hands but are not residents of UK should not upset themselves as there is good news for them. According to the press release, Huawei affirmed that the shipments of the smartphone will start in China from June and will head towards the Western Europe in July this year.
The company has released a short list of the carriers that will receive the phone for retailing. Besides Carephone Warehouse, the list includes Vodafone, O2, Telefonica, H3G, Orange, Media Markt & Saturn, TIM and TalkTalk. The handset will also go for sale online through Amazon, CDiscount, etc. Probably, the Huawei Ascend P6 will be made available around the globe in the near future, but you have to wait till that period.
