At the Samsung Premiere event, Samsung unveiled its new ultrabook – the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus. Even though the name of this ultrabook might be difficult and confusing to remember, you will never forget its specs and features once you check them out. The reason being that the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus is literally a powerhouse in the form of an ultrabook.
The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus ultrabook has a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 3200×1800 pixels, identical to the resolution of the Samsung ATIV Q tablet that was also unveiled at the event. In spite of such a high display resolution, Samsung ensures that the ultrabook will be able to give a battery backup of up to 12 hours, which is just 1 hour short from what you can get from the latest version of MacBook Air, which of course has a display resolution of 1440×900 pixels.
The body of the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus is made out of high quality aluminum, which is extremely rigid and robust. It also has a flexible hinge, with the help of which you can rotate the display up to 180 degrees. The ATIV Book 9 is not only excellent from the inside, but it is definite winner on the outside as well. The ultrabook weighs just 1.39kg and has a thickness of 13.6mm.
As far as the hardware configuration is concerned, all we know for now is that the ultrabook will be powered by an Intel Core processor. Samsung has not given out all the details as of now, but we believe that it will have Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB of DDR3 RAM at the least.
The introduction of the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus ultrabook could open up new possibilities and great business opportunities for the company. According to us, the ATIV 9 Plus is one ‘the’ Window 8 ultrabook that can take on the MacBook Pro Retina.
