It’s time for Mobile Asia Expo 2013, Asia’s biggest event of mobile industry. The event will start this Wednesday in Shanghai, China and will showcase the newest technologies and most innovative products available in the mobile industry from different brands. The well-known Japanese mobile manufacturer – Sony is also taking part in this event with its new device lineup which would be worth watching.

Sony is rumored to reveal several high-end devices in this event.  The company is expected to show four new products namely the exhaustively leaked Xperia ZU (Ultra) phablet, Xperia C (codenamed CN3) smartphone, a TD-LTE variant of Xperia SP, and a new generation of the Sony SmartWatch.

Here are the devices that you should not miss at Mobile Asia Expo 2013.

Sony Xperia C

According to the fresh reports from XperiaBlog, Sony will introduce a mid-range dual-SIM smartphone Xperia C, previously codenamed as Xperia CN3. The 8.88mm thick Xperia C is said to feature a 5-inch LCD display with resolution of 960x540p, a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU (likely to embed the MediaTek chip), 1GB of on-board RAM, and 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded via MicroSD. It will come with an 8 megapixel Exmor R main camera and will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sony’s usual addition and customizations.

Sony is expected to launch the device for the China region and will make it available in select markets. It appears that this budget-friendly device will not make its debut to the Western markets because the 5-inch niche there is already acquired by Sony’s high-end devices like Xperia Z and ZL.

TD-LTE Sony Xperia SP

The mobile manufacturer is believed to introduce a TD-LTE variant of the mind-range Xperia SP smartphone during the conference. As per the reports, this device has been named as Huashanchun and is destined particularly for China. Unfortunately, we don’t have any reliable information about the handset, but we hope that this variant will be affordable and impressive similar to the Sony Xperia SP.

Sony Xperia ZU (Ultra)

Sony’s Xperia ZU or say Togari has been in rumors from a long time apparently because it is highly anticipated for being a Snapdragon 800 powered device featuring a 6.4-inch display. Its leaked images before gave a hint to the consumers that its UI would be similar to Sony’s flagship Xperia Z with a lot of features being the same.

Xperia Z Ultra is supposed to sport a 6.4-inch 1080p “Triluminos with X-Reality for Mobile” display, a 2GHz Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 Quad-Core processor along with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 8MP rear camera with RS sensor & 2.2MP front-facing camera, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-box.

The 212gm hefty phablet is dustproof as well as waterproof and measures 179.2 x 92 x 6.5mm. It is expected to have stylus support too.

New-Gen Sony SmartWatch

Sony’s rumored next-generation SmartWatch seems to be real, and it is predicted to be announced at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013. This Android-powered watch is expected to offer notable feature upgrades to the current model i.e. the MN2SW SmartWatch. According to reports from CNET, this SmartWatch will feature a larger display along with the capacitive touchscreen, and a 3 button layout (alike Xperia smartphones). It will be minimally water resistant and will come equipped with NFC and Bluetooth.
