According to a recent report by Android Beat, Samsung’s flagship device – the Samsung Galaxy S4 has already passed the 20 million shipment mark and hence achieved yet another milestone.
Samsung Galaxy S4 had already succeeded being the company’s fastest shipping device when it crossed the 10 million channel sales within a month after its launch. The report also revealed that Samsung is planning to conduct a press conference soon in order to release this good news officially to its fans and media.
This is good news for Samsung Galaxy S4 consumers as well, and they can now be even more proud of the smartphone they choose to buy. However, it appears that Samsung still hasn’t won the battle that it wants to win as both these milestones considers the “channel sales” rather than the consumer sales.
Samsung does make a decent amount of profit through channel sales, but the real battle lies in consumer sales. A channel sale means “shipping the devices to retailer” who will then try to sell it to actual consumers. Hence when the report says that the Galaxy S4 has crossed the 20 million channel sales mark, it means that 20 million Galaxy S4 handsets have been shipped out of Samsung, it’s not necessary that all of them have been purchased by consumers.
The report also unveiled that all of the 20 million Galaxy S4 handsets shipped out of the company were the standard version of Samsung Galaxy S4. This total does not include other variants of the device like Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom or Galaxy S4 Mini.
Even though Samsung has crossed the 20 million mark, the impact can’t be compared with the Apple iPhone 5.The reason being that the Apple iPhone 5 still has better figures as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S4.
