BestBuy and Pebble have formed an exclusive partnership, as a result of which the Pebble smartwatch will be available at BestBuy stores all across the country.
If you are planning to get your hands on this smartwatch, you will be happy to know that the watch works with Android as well as iOS devices. The watch sports a black-and-white e-ink display and can be connected to an Android smartphone or an Apple iPhone via Bluetooth. The Pebble smartwatch also offers a number of third-party apps and integration, courtesy of the platform’s open SDK already released for developers.
Eric Migicovsky, the CEO of Pebble said
“The outpouring of support from our Kickstarter backers was the first signal to our team that Pebble’s approach to smart, wearable technology was something the world was ready for. We’ve learned that people want their Pebbles. Thanks to Best Buy, we’re giving folks more ways to make that happen.”
As of now, BestBuy is only offering the Pebble smartwatch in Black color, and will also start selling a red variant from August. Apart from Black and Red, Pebble SmartWatches are also available in Orange, Gray and White. However, in order to get one of these, you will have to buy the watch directly from Pebble.
