Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will allow sorting of apps and widgets based on usage

For every new day,  there’s another new rumor about the next official update to the mobile operating system from Mountain View Group. Although, Google hasn’t commented yet on the existence of the update, but many leaks have already revealed the new features to be introduced in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean that includes new notification center, new Camera app and support for Bluetooth Smart.

According to the author of MyCe, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will allow sorting of apps alphabetically as well as based on their frequency of use. Hence, users will be able to choose either sort by alphabet or favorites.

The code snippets suggest that the new version of mobile operating system will use a counter, which will be incremented (+1) at every start without showing anything to the user. Apparently, the same approach will be adopted for the installed widget to sort on the basis of use.

Another source speaks that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will enable third party apps to read, dismiss or perform notification related tasks. Such apps would be called “Notification listeners” and you can check all those listeners in Settings > Shortcuts > Settings Shortcuts.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will also bring updated versions of stock apps with an update to YouTube app, which will support the multitasking feature that enables users to watch video using the YouTube app while using other app simultaneously.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean seems to be missing the official confirmation only. It is expected to arrive in the coming weeks, probably by the end of July.
