Apple iPad 5 is rumored to arrive during late September and October this year along with the new iPad Mini. Apparently, the next generation iPad will be lighter and smaller with a design similar to the current iPad Mini.
Foxconn will start the production of the 10.1 and 7.9-inch tablets from the beginning of next month in China. If the rumors turn out to be true, Apple will officially unveil the duo by summer, with a debut planned for autumn.
New leaks suggest that iPad 5 will have a 15% slimmer and 25% thinner body than the current version with edges and form factor similar to the younger brother. The iPad 5 will feature an Apple A7X quad-core processor with 1GB or 2GB RAM, along with a 5-megapixel rear facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front facing camera. It will be available with storage options of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Even the iPad Mini 2 will bring several improvement to the specifications; therefore, it will be more powerful than the predecessor. There are possibilities that the second generation iPad Mini will integrate Retina display (2048 x 1536 resolution) and also feature a 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080 pixels HD video recording. The new tablet would be aimed at new standards of ergonomics and portability.
It should be noted that Apple CEO Tim Cook has already confirmed the arrival of the new device in autumn during the D11 conference organized by All Things Digital. Therefore, the debut of two new iPad seems imminent.
Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the official launch.
