Leaked image of a new Blackberry handset has been spotted, and speculations are being made that this could be the Blackberry 7 device that the CEO of the company was talking about.

In the first quarter of this year, Thorsten Heins, the CEO of Blackberry said that a new Blackberry 7 device would be released in the months to come. At that time, he did not give out any details, but he did specifically say that the device would belong to the Blackberry 7 family. Now we have come across a new image of a Blackberry smartphone that pretty much looks like the previous Blackberry Curve devices.

There’s a very good chance that this device could be the Blackberry 9720. In addition, the Blackberry site also contains the UAProf for this device that gives out some valuable information about it.

Most importantly, the device has been listed as the Blackberry 9720. It has a full QWERTY keypad, runs on Blackberry OS 7.1 and a decent display resolution of 480×360 pixels. It also has support for Wi-Fi and 3G. Undoubtedly it looks like a typical Blackberry smartphone spec sheet, even though we just have a few points.

If all be true as mentioned then the Blackberry will soon launch the so-called Blackberry 9720. However, there is no official branding information available right now, but it is definitely weird to see that Blackberry is still working on devices that run on older OS version, when the company should actually be focusing on newer and better products like the Blackberry 10 and the smartphones related to this new OS.

Right now, Blackberry offers two high-end smartphones namely the Blackberry Z10 and the Blackberry Q10. The company is also expected to launch another high-end device called the Blackberry A10, which could end up being the new flagship device.
