After the Opera 15 for Windows and Mac, Opera Software has announced the availability of the Opera 15 for Android. The new browser is based on the code of Chromium 28 — an open-source project, operated by Google, and uses the Webkit, unlike Chrome 28. The release has many new features similar to the desktop version while some features have been designed for the mobile devices.
Opera 15 for Android has been developed from scratch to provide the best possible browsing experience to smartphone and tablet users, thanks to the new interface. The company has reduced the size of the APK file and startup time of the app. The new browser displays web pages in full-screen mode using Discover feature. It allows private browsing and aids “open in a private tab” in the context menu, ability to close the location for the downloaded files and a new mechanism to clean cookies. Opera 15 also allows you to open files from the memory card.
Other new features are derived from the desktop version and Opera Mini, such as Speed Dial mode in folders and Off-Road — a feature that compresses web pages and reduces consumption of data. The browser for Android also allows you to move the navigation bar at the top or bottom and display the text correctly, adapting the layout of the display.
In addition to the improvements listed above, Opera has the updated Download Manager that allows you to download video using a button or touch and hold the screen with your finger.
If you haven’t tried the Opera 15 yet, download the it from Google Play Store now. It is worth to tryout since it comes with the best of Google Chrome browser, retaining its own features.
