Sony has officially scheduled a press event on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 in Berlin, Germany. The company has already sent out invitations to the press asking them to attend the event.

It’s official now, Sony is actually going to host a press event, that too on the exact same date and in the same place as mentioned in past rumors. The invitations is simple and straightforward, all it says, “you are invited to the IFA 2013 Sony press conference and exclusive booth unveiling.” The event will commence at 1615 hours and will go through 1700 hours.

During this event, Sony might focus on the unveiling of the Sony i1 Honami, which is expected to be the new flagship phablet device of the company. The Sony i1 Honami has been in the rumor mill for a long time, and we assume that it won’t leave until it becomes official.

The Sony i1 Honami is expected to be the best Android Cameraphone to be released this year, and will be competing against the Samsung Galaxy Zoom and recently unveiled Nokia Lumia 1020. The device will have a 20MP Exmor Sensor and will most probably be the first high-end phablet to get the IP67 certification.
