A leaked screenshot confirms the pricing scheme for the refreshed versions of Google Nexus 7 tablets. The image indicates that the refreshed version will be named as Google Nexus 2 7″ and also details the pricing for the 16GB and 32G model.
As the leaked image predicated that both the 16GB and 32GB model of Nexus 2 7″ would be priced at $229 and $269 respectively. In the image, the ‘On hand’ column shows ‘0’ value, indicating that there are no units available with the retailer. So there is no possibility of the Nexus 2 being sold out, and it’s safe to assume that the tablet has not been shipped yet.
The new Google Nexus 2 7″ tablet will have a 7-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The tablet is expected to be powered by a quad-core processor and the same has been confirmed by the data in the leaked image. There is a strong possibility that Nexus 2 will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset instead of the Tegra 3 chipset present in the original Nexus 7.
The Google Nexus 2 will most certainly run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box, and provide a pure Google experience to consumers. The tablet will also have a 5 megapixel rear camera and a front facing camera.
With all that being said, we are waiting for an official release date for the new Google Nexus 7. Google has already scheduled a press event on July 24th, where Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President for Android, Chrome, and Google Apps will be the host. We aren’t sure whether the event will shed some light on the new Nexus 7, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this does happen.
