Microsoft slashes the prices by $100 for both 64GB model and 128GB model of Surface Pro, bringing their retail prices down to $799 and $899, respectively.
Good news for Microsoft fans and consumers who are planning to buy Surface Pro tablets. Microsoft has now slashed the prices by $100 for both 64GB model and 128GB model of Surface Pro, bringing their retail prices down to $799 and $899 (without cover), respectively.
This is a limited-time offer and only while supplies last or valid till August 29 so that consumers almost have a month to decide and avail these discounted prices.Recently, Microsoft cut its Surface RT tablets by $150, and the discounted price resulted in increased sales. Now the Redmond giant has now trying out the same strategy for the Surface Pro.
Regarding these offers, a Microsoft spokesperson told Engadget, “We’ve been seeing great worldwide success with Surface RT pricing and keyboard-cover promotions over the past several months, and our proud to offer Surface Pro at more affordable prices starting today.”
“People who buy Surface love Surface, and we’re eager for more people to their hands on Surface and share their excitement,” added the spokesperson.
If the price drop did the trick for the Surface RT, it is very much possible that the Surface Pro will get a similar positive response. Even though the $100 price drop is not that attractive, but it will encourage a number of consumers to think about the offer and they might eventually end up buying the Surface Pro by month end.
As mentioned earlier, the discounted prices are valid for August only. So consumers have a couple of weeks to go and check out the offer.
Do you still prefer to buy the Surface Pro after the price drop, or you would like to wait for Surface 2 which is expected to arrive early 2014. Let us know in the comments below.
