Good news for Sony Xperia Tablet Z consumers – Sony has started rolling out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. The update roll out has started this week and brings a number of UI changes along with some minor improvements.
Recently, Sony started rolling out OTA updates for its new range of Xperia smartphones in an attempt to upgrade all its consumers to the latest Android platform. In a way, Sony stands in second position as far as update rollouts are concerned while Samsung still leads. However, certainly it’s good news for Sony and Samsung consumers who get to update their devices to the latest versions of Android, namely Android 4.2.2 and Android 4.3 very soon.
There have been a number of happy consumers from Europe reporting that they had got the update notification for their Xperia tablets, specifically the LTE version with model SGP321.
As mentioned earlier, the update will not only bring improvements and new features but will also revamp the UI a bit. If you are excited about the UI changes, you will be happy to know that the soft touch on-screen navigation controls have been centered, and the notification bar has been moved back to the top right. There should be more changes, and we will let you know as soon as we discover them. If you have already got your hands on the update, let us know about the UI changes and improvements you have noticed.
Lastly, if you have not been able to get the update yet, we suggest that you wait for some time and try again later. As of now, the OTA update seems to be available only for the 3G models that too in the Europe region. Other regions and the Wi-Fi model should also get the update sooner or later.
