It’s December of 1991, and the British Royal Family decides to spend Christmas at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate. However, while there, Diana has a revelation of sorts that leads her to leave Prince Charles, take her boys to London, and rid herself of any further royal obligation.

After four days sober, Molly’s (Mila Kunis) doctor recommends an opioid antagonist, which will help her get sober — the only catch is that she has to stay sober for another four days. Four Good Days follows Molly and her mom (Glenn Close) along those 96 hours as they fight to keep Molly off drugs and begin to repair their relationship.

Attica Prison in 1971 consisted of nearly 70% black and brown inmates and 100% white guards. After an extended time without basic necessities, like toilet paper and toothpaste, coupled with unprovoked beatings, the inmates decided enough is enough. This true crime documentary film recounts the deadly five-day standoff between law enforcement and Attica’s prisoners, which dives deep into the experiences of inmates of color and the continued need for reform 50 years later.

Following the economic crash in her small Nevada town, Fern (Frances McDormand) decides to pack up her things, move into her van, and try life as a 21st-century nomad. With real-life nomads Linda May, Swankie, and Bob Wells as her mentors and exploration buddies, this Hulu Original film takes viewers on a journey of self-discovery alongside Fern and her newfound community.
In addition to the Best Picture win, Frances McDormand won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role and director Chloé Zhao landed a win for Best Director at the 2021 Academy Awards ceremony.

The Parks and the Kims come from two different worlds — the Kims are poor and destitute, while the Parks are wealthy and comfortable. When Ki-woo Kim (Woo-sik Choi) fakes a college education to take over his friend’s tutoring gig at the Park house, he and his sister Ki-jung (So-dam Park) develop a plan to slowly scam their way into the Park home and live the wealthier life for themselves.
This Korean film won the 2020 Oscar for Best Picture and also took home wins for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film.

Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) becomes a contestant on the Hindi version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to impress Latika (Frieda Pinto), the woman he loves. But, before the last $20 million question, Jamal is tortured by police who believe he has been cheating. Through a series of flashback scenes, viewers gain a better understanding of Jamal’s life thus far and the experiences that provided him the answers to each question.
Slumdog Millionaire won an astounding eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Original Song (“Jai Ho”), and Best Sound Mixing.

Aurora (Shirley MacLaine) and Emma (Debra Winger) Greenway have an extremely close, but dysfunctional relationship. When Emma marries Flap Horton (Jeff Daniels), moves away with him, and has three kids, she maintains her relationship with her mother by phone. However, when her marriage falls apart and Emma is diagnosed with cancer, it’s her mom who stays by her side.
This heartwarming tearjerker won an Oscar for Best Picture and snagged four other wins, including Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actress (Shirley MacLaine), and Best Supporting Actor (Jack Nicholson).

Grief affects everyone differently, even within the same home.
