Apple FCC Filing Confirms Four ‘New iPhones’ – Forbes

iPhone 13 leaks have exposed some massive new upgrades. But now Apple has delivered perhaps the biggest surprise of all: the company has confirmed its new iPhones just days before they launch.

Spotted by MacRumors, Apple gave the game away in a new FCC filing for its MagSafe charger. The filing lists four new iPhone models and even goes so far as to describe all iPhone 12 models as “legacy” devices.
The filing suggests an incremental version of the MagSafe charger is coming (possibly with stronger magnets, despite reported health concerns), but the big takeaway is the test devices. With the A2176 (iPhone 12 Mini), A2172 (iPhone 12), A2341 (iPhone 12 Pro) and A2342 (iPhone 12 Pro Max) all categorized as “legacy phone” by Apple itself, the focus falls on the four “new phones” the company says also completed the tests.
These are the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Mini (despite relatively low sales of its predecessor) and they are expected to carry the model numbers A2628, A2634, A2640 and A2645 respectively.
Apple has confirmed it is testing a new version of MagSafe with next-generation iPhones
Moreover, they are also expected to deliver some major upgrades including supersized cameras, better battery life, faster charging, next-gen WiFi and a smaller notch. For iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max buyers, they will also get superior 5G, 120Hz ProMotion displays and potentially double the storage. Perhaps the most anticipated upgrade, however, was scrapped
That said, don’t expect this to reduce demand. Apple CFO Luca Maestri has already warned of supply constraints that “will primarily impact iPhone and iPad” this quarter and there are also claims of last minute price hikes. So, with the new iPhone launch just days away, Apple fans will need to act fast or face the consequences.
