After a few weeks of a gradual approach, looking through all candidates except the last, Yahoo has announced the new official logo of the company. Here’s a video that gives the glimpse of a new identity.
The new logo maintains three constant elements from the past: the purple color that always permeates the entire experience around the logo, the exclamation point that appears to be a staple of the company meaning, and the dynamic character, which makes the logo more “alive” and “expressive.”
“We knew we wanted a logo that reflected Yahoo – whimsical, yet sophisticated. Modern and fresh, with a nod to our history. Having a human touch, personal. Proud.” wrote CEO Marissa Mayer in a blog post on Tumblr.
Kept every promise seems in short: Yahoo logo wanted a “fun, vibrant and welcoming” and hereafter, the solution identified accompanies each enterprise on the farm of Sunnyvale.
Yahoo: We wanted a logo that stayed true to our roots.
The new logo is the final piece of a process of redefinition of the company wanted by Marissa Mayer after the unfortunate break of Carol Bartz. The revival that passes through the acquisitions, the renewal of Flickr, and a CEO who comes from Google, in fact, the new logo holds everything, speaking of the change.
